Ice Skating at the Sculpture Garden
Leigh and I were anxious to get back home for our vacation from our vacation, as well call it, or time to relax before everything goes full speed again, so I changed our tickets to come home on the 30th. So the morning of our monthly celebration began REALLY early. We flew into Washington Dulles from Tampa. My car was dropped off by a friend of a friend (they were having a baby that morning... another story). We drove down into downtown DC to spend the afternoon and evening together. It was still rather cold, but we walked around the mall and stopped to see the White House Museum. Since we want to see everything there is in DC before we leave, I thought it was just as good a place as any. Afterward I took Leigh to the Jefferson Memorial for her first time. On the way home we stopped by the skating rink that was in the sculpture garden (that we were not aware of before that point). It was quite romantic and then we finished the day by returning home and sharing a cup of hot chocolate.

Six months already!
Many months ago Leigh and I decided that we would separate for Thanksgiving. I would go to my family and she to hers. We were very happy with our decision until we realized that our six month anniversary was November 30th and I booked the return ticket on the 2nd of December. It was cheaper- what can I say? Well, I got teased about it from Leigh and then from her parents. I decided to buy her a ticket to come back on the 30th. After buying the ticket I believe her parents were a bit offended in that I keep stealing their daughter away... Sorry Mom and Dad! Anyways, I picked her up at the airport and had planned to go for a walk on the C&O canal. Well, it was raining... Leigh was up for the walk so we tried and last almost 5 minutes before the cold set in and I think she wished she was back in Florida. Luckily I had made use of our crockpot for the first time and had soup ready when we got home. Ironically enough- she gave me a slowcooker recipe book as my present! I'm not sure if it was a gesture out of love or a subtle hint that I need to cook more often but I am excited to use it and contribute to the domestic affairs of our home (in addition to my dishwashing) .
Leigh's thoughts....
DC, my new home, certainly welcomed me with dreary skies and lots of rain. I am, however, very excited about winter because I now have a wonderful new scarf and necklace that I plan on using a great deal. The soup was wonderful and I am more then willing to try more meals prepared by Chris.....xoxoxo
